Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the only daughter of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered the showbiz world early and was playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she was sixteen. After her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge on Downfall. This film won an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial success. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominees featuring the divas. Alexandra is involved in many important projects both locally and internationally. Some of these include the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon as well as many other. She also remained member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
